1987 Prize Of Moscow News
The 1987 Prize of Moscow News was the 22nd edition of an international figure skating competition organized in Moscow, Soviet Union. It was held November 11–15, 1987. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating and ice dancing. The men's title went to World champion Alexandre Fadeev, winning the Prize of Moscow News for the fourth time. Cindy Bortz, moving up to the senior level after winning the world junior title, won the ladies' category. Ekaterina Gordeeva / Sergei Grinkov, who would win the Olympic gold medal later in the season, took the pairs' title ahead of 1984 Olympic champions Elena Valova / Oleg Vasiliev. Viktor Petrenko
Viktor Vasyliovych Petrenko ( uk, Віктор Васильович Петренко; born 27 June 1969) is a Ukrainian former competitive figure skater who represented the Soviet Union, the Unified Team, and Ukraine during his career. He is the 1992 Olympic Champion for the Unified Team. Petrenko became the first flagbearer for Ukraine. Petrenko moved to the United States in 1994 with his family and associates, living first in Simbury, Connecticut, the site of an international skating center. Larissa Vladimirovna Zamotina (russian: Лариса Владимировна Замотина; born 25 June 1967) is a Russian former competitive figure skater who competed for the Soviet Union. She is the 1987 Winter Universiade champion, 1990 NHK Trophy bronze medalist, and two-time Soviet national bronze medalist. Zamotina was coached by Igor Ksenofontov. Ralph Burghart (born 16 September 1966) is an Austrian figure skating coach and former competitor. A seven-time Austrian national champion, he competed at the 1992 Winter Olympics and placed 18th. Personal life Ralph Burghart was born on 16 September 1966 in Vienna, Austria. He married U.S. figure skater Rory Flack in December 1992. They have two sons, Rendell, born 28 September 1993, and Remington, born 17 January 1997.
