1987 Cork Senior Football Championship
The 1987 Cork Senior Football Championship was the 99th staging of the Cork Senior Football Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1887. The draw for the opening round fixtures took place on 21 December 1986. The championship began on 2 May 1987 and ended on 15 November 1987. Imokilly entered the championship as the defending champions. On 15 November 1987, Nemo Rangers won the championship following a 2-11 to 0-09 defeat of Imokilly in the final. This was their eighth championship title overall and their first title since 1983. Ephie Fitzgerald from the Nemo Rangers club was the championship's top scorer with 1-15. O'Donovan Rossa (Skibbereen) GAA
O'Donovan Rossa or Skibbereen is a Gaelic football and hurling club based in Skibbereen, County Cork, Ireland. It participates in Cork GAA competitions. Traditionally, the club has been much more successful in Gaelic football. It won its only Cork Senior Football Championship in 1992 and subsequently won the 1992–93 All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship after beating Éire Óg of Carlow in the final replay. UCC GAA
UCC is a football and hurling club associated with University College Cork. UCC teams play in the Cork Senior Football Championship and Cork Senior Hurling Championship as well as the two main third-level competitions namely the Sigerson Cup in football, the Fitzgibbon Cup in hurling and the Ashbourne Cup in camogie. They also competed against inter-county sides in the pre-season McGrath Cup (football) and Waterford Crystal Cup (hurling). Páirc Uí Chaoimh ( ) is a Gaelic games stadium in Cork, Ireland. Often referred to simply as "The Park", it is the home of Cork GAA and is located in Ballintemple, near the site of the original Cork Athletic Grounds. In February 2024, following a naming-rights agreement with SuperValu, the venue was branded as SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh. The stadium opened in 1976 and underwent a significant two-year redevelopment before reopening in 2017. Bandon (; ) is a town in County Cork, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. It lies on the River Bandon between two hills. The name in Irish means 'Bridge of the Bandon', a reference to the origin of the town as a crossing point on the river. In 2004 Bandon celebrated its quatercentenary. Bandon GAA is a Gaelic football and Hurling club based in Bandon, County Cork, Bandon in County Cork, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. Clonakilty GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in Clonakilty, County Cork, Ireland. The club is affiliated to the West Cork Board and fields teams in Gaelic football, hurling and camogie. History Located in the town of Clonakilty in West Cork, Clonakilty GAA Club was formally affiliated to the newly-established Gaelic Athletic Association in October 1887.
