Istora Gelora Bung Karno
Gelora Bung Karno Sports Palace (, abbreviated as ''Istora''), (formerly named ''Istora Senayan'' between 1969 and 2001) is an indoor arena located in Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex, Jakarta, Indonesia. The capacity of the arena after 2018 reopening is 7,166. This arena is usually used for badminton tournaments, especially the BWF tournaments Indonesia Open (badminton), Indonesia Open since 1982 and Indonesia Masters since 2018, as well as the Indonesia men's national basketball team. Chris Kinard (born November 8, 1950, in Pasadena, California) is an American badminton player who was considered the top U.S. singles player in the 1970s, having been the U.S. # 1 ranked men's singles player for 7 of the decade's 10 years. He is married to former badminton player Utami Kinard. Badminton career Kinard won the U.S. Men's Singles Championship 6 times (1972, 1974, 1976, 1977, 1979, 1981). and was the #1 U.S. player 7 times (1972, 1973, 1974, 1976, 1977, 1979, 1981). Mohamed Jalani Mohd Sidek (born 10 November 1963) is a Malaysian former badminton player and coach. Personal life He is the third eldest of the five Sidek brothers. Jalani and his siblings gained exposure about badminton sport from their father, Haji Mohammed Sidek. In addition, he is also one of the alumnus of Victoria Institution (batch 1977–1982). Sture Johnsson (born 27 September 1945) is a retired badminton player from Sweden who won numerous Swedish national and international men's singles titles. His game was characterized by impressive stamina and mobility, and a powerful overhead smash. Career Johnsson won men's singles at the first European Badminton Championships in 1968. He eventually won three singles titles at this biennial event (1968, 1970 and 1974), a total bested only by Peter Gade in the early 2000s.
