1980 AFC Asian Cup
The 1980 AFC Asian Cup was the 7th edition of the men's AFC Asian Cup, a quadrennial international association football, football tournament organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The finals were hosted by Kuwait between 15 and 30 September 1980. The field of ten teams was split into two groups of five each. Kuwait national football team, Kuwait won their first championship, beating South Korea national football team, South Korea in the final 3–0. Behtash Fariba (; born February 11, 1955) is a retired Iranian football player and now coach Club career He played for a few clubs, including Rah Ahan F.C., PAS Tehran F.C., Pas Tehran and Esteghlal F.C. With Pas F.C. he won the Iranian Iran Pro League, Takht Jamshid in 1977–78 Takht Jamshid Cup, 1978. With Esteghlal F.C. he won the Tehran Province League in 1983 and 1985. Chen Jinjang (; born February 4, 1958) is a Chinese coach and a former international association football, football player. As a player, he was predominantly remembered for his time at Tianjin Teda F.C., Tianjin City while internationally he played for China national football team, China in the 1980 Asian Cup. Ashraf Uddin Ahmed Chunnu (; born 1 August 1956) is a Bangladeshi former professional footballer who played for the Bangladesh national team for 10 years between 1975 and 1985. The left-winger represented Bangladesh in 50 international matches in which he scored 17 official goals during his 10-year long national career. Career Chunnu started his football career with Dilkusha (first division) in 1973. He played for Abahani Krira Chakra from 1975 to 1988 after playing for Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society in 1974, besides wearing the national team jersey. Kazi Salahuddin (; born 23 September 1953) is a Bangladeshi former football player currently serving as the president of South Asian Football Federation. He previously served as the president of Bangladesh Football Federation from 2008 to 2024. He was a member of the Shadhin Bangla Football Team, which played across India to raise awareness about the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. He played for and captained the Bangladesh national team, retiring in 1983.
