Green Lantern (comic Book)
''Green Lantern'' is an ongoing American comic-book series featuring the DC Comics heroes of the Green Lantern, same name. The character's first incarnation, Alan Scott, appeared in ''All-American Comics'' #16 (July 1940), and was later spun off into the first volume of ''Green Lantern'' in 1941. After 38 issues, that series was cancelled in 1949. When the Silver Age Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, was introduced, the character starred in a new volume of ''Green Lantern'' starting in 1960. Although ''Green Lantern'' is considered a mainstay in the DC Comics stable, the series has been cancelled and rebooted several times. When sales began slipping in the early 1990s, DC Comics instituted a controversial editorial mandate that turned Jordan into the supervillain Parallax (comics), Parallax and created a new protagonist named Kyle Rayner. Running Press is an American publishing company and member of the Perseus Books Group, a division of the Hachette Book Group. Jean-Claude Mézières
Jean-Claude Mézières (; 23 September 1938 – 23 January 2022) was a French Bande dessinée, ''bandes dessinées'' artist and illustrator. Born in Paris and raised in nearby Saint-Mandé, he was introduced to drawing by his elder brother and influenced by comics artists such as Hergé, Andre Franquin and Morris (comics), Morris and later by Jijé and Jack Davis (cartoonist), Jack Davis. Educated at the École nationale supérieure des arts appliqués et des métiers d'art, he worked upon graduation as an illustrator for books and magazines as well as in advertising. A lifelong interest in the Wild West led him to travel to the United States in 1965 in search of adventure as a cowboy, an experience that would prove influential on his later work. Pierre Christin
Pierre Christin (; 27 July 1938 – 3 October 2024) was a French comics creator and writer. Biography Christin was born at Saint-Mandé on 27 July 1938. After graduating from the Sorbonne, Christin pursued graduate studies in political science at SciencesPo and became a professor of French literature at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City. His first comics story, ''Le Rhum du Punch'', illustrated by his childhood friend Jean-Claude Mézières, was published in 1966 in ''Pilote'' magazine. Christin returned to France the following year to join the faculty of the University of Bordeaux. That year he again collaborated with Mézières to create the science-fiction series ''Valérian and Laureline'' for ''Pilote''. The first episode was ''Les Mauvais Rêves'' (''Bad Dreams''). ''Yoko Tsuno'' is a comics album series created by the Belgian writer Roger Leloup published by Dupuis in '' Spirou'' magazine since its debut in 1970. Through thirty volumes, the series tell the adventures of Yoko Tsuno, a female electrical engineer of Japanese origin surrounded by her close friends, Vic Video and Pol Pitron (see Yoko Tsuno characters). ''Spirou'' () is a weekly Belgian comics magazine published by the Dupuis company since April 21, 1938. It is an anthology magazine with new features appearing regularly, containing a mix of short humor strips and serialized features, of which the most popular series would be collected as albums by Dupuis afterwards.
