1975 Philippine Sangguniang Bayan Elections
Sangguniang Bayan elections were held for representatives to the ''Pambansang Sangguniang Bayan'' (National Board) on December 10, 1975, after the enactment osigned by President Ferdinand Marcos on November 14, 1975. The said degree renamed the provincial boards and city and municipal councils into ''Sangguniang Bayan'' and increased the membership of the local councils. ''Sangguniang Bayan'' representatives were also considered as members of the Batasang Bayan. Membership in the Sangguniang Bayan In the provinces, the ''Sangguniang Bayan'' was composed of the incumbent members of the existing provincial boards, a representative from each of the municipalities within the province, and the President of the ''Katipunan ng mga Kabataang Barangay'' in the province. Ferdinand Marcos
Ferdinand Emmanuel Edralin Marcos Sr. (September 11, 1917 – September 28, 1989) was a Filipino lawyer, politician, dictator, and Kleptocracy, kleptocrat who served as the tenth president of the Philippines from 1965 to 1986. The Batasang Bayan (, ) was the consultative assembly and legislative advisory council in the Philippines that helped formulate decrees promulgated by Ferdinand Marcos from its inauguration on September 21, 1976 to June 12, 1978. The barangay (; abbreviated as Brgy. or Bgy.), historically referred to as ''barrio'', is the smallest Administrative divisions of the Philippines, administrative division in the Philippines.
