The 1972 British Formula Three season was the 22nd season of the British Formula 3 season. It consisted of three championships. British Formula 3 International Series
The British Formula Three Championship was an international Auto racing, motor racing series that took place primarily in the United Kingdom with a small number of events in mainland Europe. It was a junior-level Formula racing, feeder formula that used small Open wheel car, single seater Formula Three chassis. Its final official title was the Cooper Tires British Formula 3 International Series. is a former racing driver from Japan. After some experience in the Japanese lower formulae, he made an attempt at Formula One. Robert Neville Anthony Evans (born 11 June 1947) is a British former racing driver from England. He participated in 12 World Championship Formula One Grands Prix, debuting on 1 March 1975. He scored no championship points. He also competed in numerous non-Championship Formula One races. Rufforth Circuit is a disused motor racing circuit built on an airfield in North Yorkshire, England. Snetterton Circuit is a motor racing course in Norfolk, England, originally opened in 1953. Michel Leclère
Michel Leclère (born 18 March 1946) is a former motor racing driver from France. He competed in eight Formula One Grands Prix, making his debut on October 5, 1975. However, he did not score any championship points during his career in Formula One. Career After winning the French Formula 3 championship, driving for Alpine (car), Alpine, in 1972, Leclère performed well in Formula 2. This earned him his chance in Formula One. After making his debut for Tyrrell Racing, Tyrrell at the last race of the season he landed a full-time drive with Wolf–Williams Racing in . Anderstorp Raceway, previously known as Scandinavian Raceway, is a motorsport race track in Anderstorp (Gislaved Municipality), Sweden and the sole Nordic host of a Formula One World Championship Grand Prix, when the Swedish Grand Prix was held for six years between 1973 and 1978. Track history The track was built on marshlands in 1968 and became an extremely popular venue in the 1970s, just as Swede Ronnie Peterson was at the height of his career. It has a long straight (called ''Flight Straight'', which is also used as an aircraft runway), as well as several banked corners, making car setup an engineering compromise. Patrick Depailler
Patrick André Eugène Joseph Depailler (; 9 August 1944 – 1 August 1980) was a French racing driver, who competed in Formula One from to . Depailler won two Formula One Grands Prix across eight seasons. Depailler was born in Clermont-Ferrand, Puy-de-Dôme. As a child, he was inspired by Jean Behra. In Formula One, he joined a Tyrrell Racing, Tyrrell team that was beginning a long, slow decline, eventually moving to the erratic Equipe Ligier, Ligier team before finally ending up with the revived Alfa Romeo in Formula One, Alfa Romeo squad in 1980.
