Frederik IX Of Denmark
Frederik IX (Christian Frederik Franz Michael Carl Valdemar Georg; 11 March 1899 – 14 January 1972) was King of Denmark from 1947 to 1972. Frederik was born into the House of Glücksburg during the reign of his great-grandfather King Christian IX. He was the first child of Christian X of Denmark, Prince Christian of Denmark and Princess Alexandrine of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (later King Christian X and Queen Alexandrine). He became crown prince when his father succeeded as king in 1912. As a young man, he was educated at the Royal Danish Naval Academy. In 1935, he married Princess Ingrid of Sweden. They had three daughters: Margrethe II, Margrethe, Princess Benedikte of Denmark, Benedikte and Queen Anne-Marie of Greece, Anne-Marie. Thomas Haubro Lund (born 2 August 1968) is a retired badminton player from Denmark who affiliate with Kastrup Magleby club. Career Lund was one of the world's leading doubles specialists of the 1990s, particularly in mixed doubles. He was a silver medalist in both men's and mixed doubles at the 1991 IBF World Championships. In 1993 and 1995 he won consecutive gold medals in mixed doubles at the IBF World Championships, the first with Sweden's Catrine Bengtsson and the second with his compatriot Marlene Thomsen. From 1990 through 1994 Lund won five consecutive mixed doubles titles with three different partners at the now defunct World Badminton Grand Prix. At the prestigious All England Open he captured titles in both men's doubles (1993) and mixed doubles (1992, 1995). Lund was elected to the World Badminton Hall of Fame in 2008. Ellen Juliette Collin Price de Plane (21June 18784March 1968), better known as Ellen Price, was a Danish ballerina and actress, and a model for the statue ''The Little Mermaid (statue), The Little Mermaid'' in Copenhagen. Price was born in Snekkersten in a well-known artistic family: her father Andreas Nicolai Carl Price (1839–1909) and her mother Helga Collin (1841–1918) were ballet dancers in Royal Danish Theatre. Her father's cousin, Juliette Price (1831–1906), was a Danish prima ballerina and a number of Price's other relatives were actors and musicians. Jan Grarup (born 1968) is a Danish photojournalist who has worked both as a staff photographer and as a freelance, specializing in war and conflict photography. He has won many prizes including the World Press Photo award for his coverage of the Kosovo War. Early life Grarup was born in Kvistgaard, not far from Helsingør, in the north of the Danish island of Sjælland. Jørgen Vig Knudstorp (born 21 November 1968) is a Danish businessman who is the current executive chairman of The Lego Group. Ole Bjur (born 13 September 1968) is a Danish former professional footballer who played 384 matches for Brøndby IF, with whom he won three Danish Superliga championships.
