The 1962 Michigan Auditor General election was held on November 6, 1962. Incumbent Democratic Party (United States), Democrat Billie S. Farnum defeated Republican Party (United States), Republican nominee L. William Seidman who got 50.32% of the vote. This was the last Michigan Auditor General election, because with the ratification of the 1963 Michigan Constitution, the State Auditor General became an appointed position, rather than an elected one. The Constitution of the State of Michigan is the governing document of the U.S. state of Michigan. It describes the structure and function of the state's government. The Michigan Legislature is the legislature of the U.S. state of Michigan. It is organized as a bicameral body composed of an upper chamber, the Senate, and a lower chamber, the House of Representatives. A write-in candidate is a candidate whose name does not appear on the ballot but seeks election by asking voters to cast a vote for the candidate by physically writing in the person's name on the ballot.
