1951–52 UCLA Bruins Men's Basketball Team
The 1951–52 UCLA Bruins men's basketball team represented the University of California, Los Angeles during the 1951–52 NCAA men's basketball season and were members of the Pacific Coast Conference. The Bruins were led by fourth year head coach John Wooden. They finished the regular season with a record of 19–12 and won the PCC Southern Division with a record of 8–4. UCLA defeated the Washington Huskies in the conference play-offs and lost to Santa Clara in the NCAA regional semifinals and in the regional consolation game. John Wooden
John Robert Wooden (October 14, 1910 – June 4, 2010) was an American basketball coach and player. Nicknamed "the Wizard of Westwood", he won ten National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, national championships in a 12-year period as head coach for the UCLA Bruins men's basketball, UCLA Bruins, including a record seven in a row. No other team has won more than four in a row in NCAA Division I, Division I college men's or women's basketball. Within this period, his teams won an NCAA men's basketball record 88 consecutive games.
