1941 VFL Season
The 1941 VFL season was the 45th season of the Victorian Football League (VFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Victoria. The season featured twelve clubs, ran from 26 April until 27 September, and comprised an 18-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top four clubs. The premiership was won by the Melbourne Football Club for the fifth time and third time consecutively, after it defeated by 29 points in the 1941 VFL Grand Final. Background In 1941, the VFL competition consisted of twelve teams of 18 on-the-field players each, plus one substitute player, known as the 19th man. A player could be substituted for any reason; however, once substituted, a player could not return to the field of play under any circumstances. Sel Murray

Windy Hill (officially known as Essendon Recreation Reserve) is an Australian rules football and cricket ground located in Napier Street, Essendon, a northwestern suburb of the Melbourne metropolitan area. Bernie Hore
William Bernard Hore (2 June 1916 – 15 October 1994) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Geelong in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Preston Football Club (VFA)
The Northern Bullants are a semi-professional Australian rules football club that currently competes in the Victorian Football League (VFL). The club, which is based in the Melbourne suburb of Preston, plays its home games at Preston City Oval. Allan Everett (footballer)
Allan Everett (12 April 1913 – 22 October 2003) was an Australian rules footballer who played with and coached Geelong in the Victorian Football League (VFL). A hard running rebound defender, Everett was used mostly in the back pockets. He came to Geelong from Lismore and spent some of his early games at half forward. The Victorian Football League (VFL) is an Australian rules football competition in Australia operated by the Australian Football League (AFL) as a second-tier, regional, semi-professional competition. Corio Oval
Corio Oval was an Australian rules football ground, located in Geelong, Victoria, and used by the Geelong Football Club in the VFA and the VFL from 1878 to 1915, and 1917 to 1940. Sited in Eastern Park, the oval was served by trams from 1930 when the line was extended along Ryrie Street to the football ground. Corio Oval had been in use as a cricket oval since 1862, when a Geelong and District XXII played an All-England XI. Several more cricket matches against international touring teams were played at the ground until 1937.
