1941 All-Ireland Junior Football Championship
The 1941 All-Ireland Junior Football Championship was the 24th staging of the All-Ireland Junior Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1912. Roscommon entered the championship as the defending champions, but lost to Leitrim in the opening round of the Connacht Championship. The All-Ireland final was played on 21 September 1941 at Croke Park between Kerry and Cavan, in what was the first ever meeting of the two counties in the final. Kerry won the match by 0–09 to 0–04 to claim their sixth championship title overall and a first since 1930. Leinster Junior Football Championship
The Leinster Junior Football Championship was a junior "knockout" competition in the game of Gaelic football played in the province of Leinster in Ireland. The series of games were organised by the Leinster Council. The competition ran from 1905 to 2019. The most successful county was Dublin who have won on twenty occasions. The winners of the Leinster Junior Football Championship each year would then progress to play the other provincial champions for a chance to win the All-Ireland Junior Football Championship. At GAA Congress in 2021, a motion was passed to change the entire structure of the All Ireland Junior Football Championship competition to that of a mostly 'overseas competition' along with just one Irish county, Kilkenny. Portlaoise GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) affiliated hurling, Gaelic football and camogie club based in Portlaoise, the county town of County Laois, Laois in Ireland. Annanough GAA
Annanough GAA is a Gaelic football club in Vicarstown, County Laois, Ireland. History Annanough was founded in 1920 from a merger of the old Vicarstown and Moyanna clubs. Moyanna had won the 1891 Laois Senior Football Championship title while Vicarstown were Laois Intermediate Football Championship winners in 1917 and 1919. Success wasn't long coming the new club's way with the legendary Dick Miller captaining Annanough to a three-in-a-row of Laois Senior Football Championship titles from 1924 to 1926. Another great Annanough team emerged in the 1950s to take two more Laois Senior Football Championship titles.
