Edmonton Rugby Foot-ball Club
Edmonton Rugby Foot-ball Club was an early Canadian football team based in Edmonton, Alberta. The team was founded in 1907 in Canadian football, 1907 as the ''Edmonton Rugby Foot-ball Club''. The club was renamed the Edmonton Esquimaux in 1908 and again as the Edmonton Eskimos in 1910. Later it took the name Edmonton Boosters, then the Edmonton Hi-Grads in 1936 in Canadian football, 1936, then yet another incarnation of the Edmonton Eskimos Football Club (1938), Eskimos before ceasing operation as the Second World War began. The team is neither affiliated with the current franchise, the Edmonton Elks (also previously named Eskimos), nor forms part of its history. Football had been played in the city and environs for nearly two decades before the Edmonton Rugby Foot-ball Club was founded in 1907. Western Canada Rugby Football Union
The West Division is one of the two regional divisions of the Canadian Football League (CFL), its counterpart being the East Division. With a few exceptions, a senior men's football championship has been contested in Western Canada since 1911, and with a few additional exceptions the Western champion has played the Eastern champion for the Grey Cup. Although its teams have been members of the CFL since 1958, the then-Western Football Conference remained a distinct legal entity until 1981. The five teams in the West Division are the BC Lions, Calgary Stampeders, Edmonton Elks, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Kingston is a city in Ontario, Canada, on the northeastern end of Lake Ontario. It is at the beginning of the St. Lawrence River and at the mouth of the Cataraqui River, the south end of the Rideau Canal. Richardson Stadium (Kingston)
Richardson Stadium, officially named George Taylor Richardson Memorial Stadium, is the football stadium for Queen's University, in Kingston, Ontario. The stadium is primarily used for canadian football but also has hosted other sporting events such as soccer and rugby. There has been a stadium at Queen's University since 1921, all using the same name. A second stadium was built in 1971 to replace the first. This was replaced in 2016 when the third and most current version was opened. The current stadium has a seating capacity of 8,500. The facilities are named in memory of George Taylor Richardson, a Queen's graduate renowned for his athleticism and sportsmanship who died in the First World War. Edmonton Elks
The Edmonton Elks are a professional Canadian football team based in Edmonton, Alberta. The club competes in the Canadian Football League (CFL) as a member of the league's West Division (CFL), West Division and plays their home games at Commonwealth Stadium. The Winnipeg Victorias were an amateur senior-level men's amateur ice hockey team in Winnipeg, Manitoba, organized in 1889. They played in the Manitoba Hockey Association (MHA) in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
