Christian X Of Denmark
Christian X (; 26 September 1870 – 20 April 1947) was King of Denmark from 1912 until his death in 1947, and the only King of Iceland as Kristján X, holding the title as a result of the personal union between Denmark and independent Iceland between 1918 and 1944. He was a member of the House of Glücksburg, a branch of the House of Oldenburg, and the first monarch since King Frederick VII of Denmark, Frederick VII born into the Danish royal family; both his father and his grandfather were born as princes of a ducal family from Duchy of Schleswig, Schleswig. Among his siblings was King Haakon VII of Norway. His son became Frederick IX of Denmark. Christian Ditlev Ammentorp Hansen
Christian Ditlev Ammentorp Hansen (25 February 1843 – 20 June 1916) was a Danish pharmacist and industrialist. He founded Christian Hansen's Technical-Chemical Laboratory ( Chr. Hansen), which revolutionized the production of wholesome dairy products in the 1870s. He also had a key role in the establishment of the Danish Pharmaceutical College in Copenhagen in 1892, financing its first building in Stockholmsgade out of his own pocket. He owned Mullerup on Funen and Bøstrup at Slagelse. Early life Hansen was born on 25 February 1843 at Kragsbjerg, near Odense the son of Christian Henrik Hansen (1797-1868) and Bertha Marie Ammentorp (1805-1848). He attended Slagelse Realskole in Slagelse and then Ålborg Latinskole in Aalborg. Pharmacist Hansen apprenticed as a pharmacist at the pharmacy of Frederick's Hospital in Copenhagen, 1859. Sara Ulrik
Sara Brigitte Ulrik née Tscherning (9 July 1855, Ørholm, Denmark–22 May 1916, Copenhagen, Denmark) was a Danish flower painter. Ulrik came from a family of artists and grew up painting from a young age. She and her sister, Anthonore Christensen, were taught to paint by their mother, Eleonora Tscherning. Ulrik herself became a painting instructor, though she withdrew from her professional career as a painter after her marriage in 1879. Biography Sara Brigitte Tscherning was born on 9 July 1855 in Ørholm north of Copenhagen. Her parents, army officer and politician Anton Frederik Tscherning (1795–1874) and the painter Eleonore Christine Lützow (1817–1890), had five children, of whom she was the youngest. Gustav Adolph Hagemann
Gustav Adolph Hagemann (16 May 1842 – 26 April 1916) was a Danish engineer and businessman. He was chief technical officer of the De Danske Sukkerfabrikker, Danish Sugar Factories from 1872 to 1897 and then served as chairman of the board until 1916. He owned several sugar plantations on Saint Croix in the Danish West Indies. Early life and education Hagemann was born on the Rodsteenseje estate at Odder in 1842, the son of Otto Waldemar Hagemann (1809–1890) and Sophie Marie Poulsen (1815–1901). His father owned the estate until 1857 when he returned to Holstein. Hagemann went to school in Aarhus before studying Applied Sciences at the Technical University of Denmark, College of Advanced Technology in Copenhagen from 1860 to 1865. Vilhelm Hammershøi (), often anglicised as Vilhelm Hammershoi (15 May 186413 February 1916), was a Danish painter. He is known for his poetic, subdued portraits and interiors. In 1905, Rainer Maria Rilke wrote of the artist, "Hammershøi is not one of those about whom one can speak quickly. His work is wide-ranging and slow, and at whatever moment one comprehends it, it will always provide an opportunity to talk about what is important and essential in art".
