Arthur Sifton
Arthur Lewis Watkins Sifton (October 26, 1858 – January 21, 1921) was a Canadian lawyer, judge and politician who served as the second premier of Alberta from 1910 until 1917. He became a Minister of the Crown, minister in the federal cabinet of Canada thereafter. Born in Canada West (now Ontario), he grew up there and in Winnipeg, where he became a lawyer. He subsequently practised law with his brother Clifford Sifton in Brandon, Manitoba, Brandon, where he was also active in municipal politics. He moved west to Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Prince Albert in 1885 and to Calgary in 1889. There, he was elected to the 4th North-West Legislative Assembly, 4th and 5th North-West Legislative Assembly, 5th North-West Legislative Assemblies; he served as a minister in the government of premier Frederick Haultain. François Langelier
Sir François Langelier, (24 December 1838 – 8 February 1915) was a Canadian lawyer, professor, journalist, politician, the tenth Lieutenant Governor of Quebec, and author. He was born in Sainte-Rosalie, Lower Canada (now Quebec) and died in Spencer Wood, Sillery, Quebec. In 1871, he was an unsuccessful candidate to the Legislative Assembly of Quebec for the riding of Bagot. A Liberal, he was elected in an 1873 by-election for the riding of Montmagny. He was defeated in 1875 but was re-elected in 1878 for the riding of Portneuf. He was Commissioner of Crown Lands and Provincial Treasurer from 1878 to 1879. He was defeated in 1881. From 1880 to 1890, he was a municipal councillor in Quebec City and was mayor from 1882 to 1890. Benjamin Rogers (August 7, 1837 – May 16, 1923) was a merchant and political figure in Prince Edward Island. He was a member of the Legislative Council of Prince Edward Island from 1878 to 1893 and represented 1st Prince in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1893 to 1897 and from 1900 to 1904 as a Liberal member. He was the ninth Lieutenant Governor of Prince Edward Island from 1910 to 1915. He was born in Bedeque, Prince Edward Island, the son of Joseph Rogers, who had emigrated from Wales. Rogers was an export merchant. He also served as a justice of the peace and Commissioner of Small Debts. In 1862, he married Susannah Abell Hubbard. He was leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council from 1883 to 1891 and became a member of the province's Executive Council, serving as Commissioner of Agriculture and Provincial Secretary Treasurer. John Morison Gibson
Sir John Morison Gibson (January 1, 1842 – June 3, 1929) was a Canadian politician and the tenth Lieutenant Governor of Ontario. Biography John Morison Gibson, the son of Scottish immigrants, was born in 1842, in Toronto. He grew up on a farm in Caledonia, Ontario, went to Hamilton Central School, in Hamilton, and went on to be educated at the University of Toronto, as a lawyer. In 1860 he joined the university company of the 2nd Battalion Volunteer Militia of The Queen's Own Rifles of Canada and was a Wimbledon marksman in 1874. He became a company director and developed a keen interest in music and art. On his return to Hamilton in 1864, he enlisted in the 13th Battalion as an ensign. In 1866, he was a lieutenant in the 13th Battalion, and fought at the Battle of Ridgeway, defending against the Fenian raids.
