	Offutt Field (Greensburg) Offutt Field is a multi-purpose athletic field, located in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. It is currently used by the Greensburg-Salem School District and Seton Hill University, primarily as a football field. The stadium was called Athletic Park, until 1928 when Greensburg-Salem renamed the field after James H. Offutt, a community leader, and school director. The school district had previously purchased the land in December 1916. The purchase price for the 4.4-acre site was $17,166.66. The Greensburg Athletic Association, an early organized football team based in Greensburg, played their home games at the stadium from 1890–1900. At times referred to as the Greensburg Athletic Club, the team began as an amateur football club in 1890 and was composed primarily of locals before several professional players were added for the 1895 season. In 1894 it was discovered that the team had secretly paid formerly Indiana Normal (now Indiana University of Pennsylvania) player, Lawson Fiscus, to play football and retained his services on salary. The team was the chief rival of another early professional football team, the Latrobe Athletic Association. 	1900 Homestead Library & Athletic Club Football Team The 1900 Homestead Library & Athletic Club football team won the professional football championship of 1900. The team was affiliated with the Homestead Library & Athletic Club in Homestead, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh. The team featured a lineup of former college All-Americans paid by Pittsburgh Pirates' minority-owner William Chase Temple. Organization In 1898, William Chase Temple took over the Duquesne Country and Athletic Club, becoming the first individual team owner in professional football. In 1900, most of the Duquesne players were hired by the Homestead Library & Athletic Club, by offering them higher salaries. Over the next two season (1900 and 1901), Homestead fielded the best professional football team in the country and did not lose a game. 	1900 Duquesne Country And Athletic Club Season The 1900 Duquesne Country and Athletic Club football season was the sixth and final season of play for the professional American football team representing the Duquesne Country and Athletic Club (DC&AC). Managed by third-year captain and coach Roy Jackson, the team compiled a 9–2 record and outscored its opponents by an aggregate 183–23. Season summary The team was unable to keep its roster intact from its dominant previous season as several players, including star backs J. A. Gammons and Dave Fultz, were lured by higher salaries to the Homestead Library & Athletic Club. Nevertheless, the DC&AC found sufficient replacements to remain strong. The DC&AC and other athletic clubs in the Pittsburgh area were plagued throughout the season by bad weather, which suppressed attendance and caused financial losses.
