John Heisman
John William Heisman ( ; October 23, 1869 – October 3, 1936) was a player and coach of American football, baseball, and basketball, as well as a sportswriter and actor. He served as the head football coach at Oberlin College, Buchtel College (now known as the University of Akron), Auburn University, Clemson University, Georgia Tech, the University of Pennsylvania, Washington & Jefferson Presidents football, Washington & Jefferson College, and Rice University, compiling a career college football record of 186–70–18. Heisman was also the head basketball coach at Georgia Tech, tallying a mark of 9–14, and the head baseball coach at Buchtel, Clemson, and Georgia Tech, amassing a career college baseball record of 199–108–7. He served as the athletic director at Georgia Tech and Rice. While at Georgia Tech, he was also the president of the Atlanta Crackers baseball team. League Park was a baseball park located in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. It was situated at the northeast corner of Dunham Street (now known as East 66th Street) and Lexington Avenue in the Hough, Cleveland, Hough neighborhood. Regents Field
Ferry Field (known as Regents Field before 1902) was the home field for the University of Michigan football team from 1893 to 1905. It was located along South State Street in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where Schembechler Hall stands today. The Board of Regents of the University of Michigan authorized $3,000 in 1890 (equivalent to $,000 in ) for the purchase of land to build a new football field. The following May, they added $4,500 more (equivalent to $,000 in ) "for the purpose of fitting up the athletic field." The facility was simply named "the Athletic Field" upon completion. In its first season under head coach William McCauley (American football), William McCauley, the team compiled a 9–1–1 record and outscored its opponents by a combined score of 244 to 84. The 1894 Western Reserve football team represented Western Reserve University—known as Case Western Reserve University—in the American city of Cleveland, Ohio, during the 1894 college football season. The team's coach was Charles O. Jenkins and captain was Henry Scott Stewart. The team was managed by future Cleveland Mayor William R. Hopkins. One notable player was Tug Wilson. Another member for the team was Charles N. Crosby. The team outscored opponents by a combined 232–8, including defeating John Heisman's Oberlin Yeomen.
