1450 Internet Army
1450 Internet army, also known as 1450, is a term referring to Internet users hired by Taiwan's Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) to sway public opinion. The term originated in 2019, when the Council of Agriculture of Taiwan budgeted NT$14.5 million for public relations campaigns and the hiring of social media managers to debunk misinformation. Because what counted as misinformation, and whether it included any and all negative coverage, was not clearly defined, some netizens questioned whether the council was in effect using tax dollars to fund an Internet troll army, coining the term "1450". After the council warned reporters not to write headlines such as "Council of Agriculture funding Internet army", the term gained even greater popularity. 2022 Taiwanese Local Elections
Local elections were held in Taiwan on 26 November and 18 December 2022 to elect county magistrates (city mayors), county (city) councilors, township mayors, township councilors and chiefs of village (borough) in 6 municipalities and 16 counties (cities). Elected officials would serve a four-year term. The election was held alongside the 2022 Taiwanese constitutional referendum. The election resulted in a big loss for the ruling Democratic Progressive Party as all the mayoral and magisterial political candidates in the north were defeated. Public Opinion Brigades
The public opinion brigades () is a state-sponsored web brigade of the Communist Party of Vietnam or linked to the Communist Government of Vietnam. Similar to Russia's web brigades and China's 50 Cent Army, participants report that they are organized into teams and groups of commentators that participate in Vietnamese and international political blogs and Internet forums using sockpuppets and large-scale orchestrated trolling and disinformation campaigns to promote pro-Vietnamese communist propaganda. Background It is unclear how the brigades started since the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPVN) often controls political information. The 50 Cent Party, also known as the 50 Cent Army or (; from zh, c=五毛, l=five dimes), are Internet commentators who are paid by the authorities of the People's Republic of China to spread the propaganda of the governing Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The program was created during the early phases of the Internet's rollout to the wider public in China. The name is derived from claims such commentators were reportedly paid RMB¥0.50 (5 '' jiao'') for every post. These commentators create comments or articles on popular Chinese social media networks that are intended to derail discussions which are critical of the CCP, promoting narratives that serve the government's interests and insulting or spreading misinformation about political opponents of the Chinese government, both domestic and abroad. Little Pink () is a term used to describe young Chinese nationalists on the internet. Some Western critics have described Little Pink as "ultranationalist". The Little Pink are different from members of the 50 Cent Party or Internet Water Army, as the Little Pink are not known to be paid for their work. In terms of demographics, according to Zhuang Pinghui of ''South China Morning Post'', 83% of the Little Pink are female, with most of them between 18 and 24 years old. AK Trolls () are anonymous political commentators and trolls on the internet, taking part in Internet manipulation in favor of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) in Turkey. The youth wing of the Justice and Development Party () is presumed responsible for heading the web brigade, while TÜGVA (Turkey Youth Foundation) members are also recruited. Typhoon Jebi, known in the Philippines as Typhoon Maymay, was the costliest typhoon in Japan's history in terms of insured losses.
