1. Divisjon (Norwegian Handball)
1. divisjon is the name of the second highest handball league for both genders in Norway. The two best placed teams win promotion to REMA 1000-ligaen for men and REMA 1000-ligaen for women, while the bottom finishers get relegated to the Norwegian 2. divisjon. The division consists of 14 teams that meet each opponent once away and once at home. Follo HK Damer are the defending champions for women, and TIF Viking are the defending champions for men, and they both play in REMA 1000-ligaen for women and REMA 1000-ligaen for men in the current season. Glassverket IF
Glassverket IF is a soccer and handball club from Drammen, Norway. The club is most famous for their handball team, which currently compete in the second tier of Norwegian handball, the 1. divisjon. The club also facilitates skiing and used to play bandy. History The club was founded on February 11th 1911. The handball department was founded in 1961. In 1974 they won the national championship and national cup in field handball for the first time. In the 1980's the club was in the top division of Norwegian handball, and they won the indoor national championship in 1981. In the 90's they featured mainly in the second and third tier. In 2012 they were promoted to the top division once again. In 2015 the handball club finished 2nd behind Larvik HK. Oppsal Håndball
Oppsal Håndball is the women's handball team of the Norwegian multi-sports club Oppsal IF based in Oslo, Norway. After 10 consecutive seasons on the highest level in Norway, the team faced relegation after the 2021–22 season. The following season the team ended 3rd in 1. divisjon, which gave access to play-off matches against the 12th ranked team in REMA 1000-ligaen. This was possible due to restructuring of the series system. Oppsal won the best of three series against Volda Handball, and gained promotion to REMA 1000-ligaen for the upcoming season.
