ḵ’els is a mountain located at the head of lekw’emin (Jervis Inlet) above the ancestral shÃshálh village site of x̱enichen and within the Pacific Ranges of the Coast Mountains of British Columbia, Canada. The mountain is associated with a shÃshálh legend about a great flood. Jervis Inlet ( ) (''lekw'emin'' in she shashishalhlem) is one of the principal inlets of the British Columbia Coast, about northwest of Vancouver, and the third of such inlets north of the 49th parallel, the first of which is Burrard Inlet, Vancouver's harbour. Geography It stretches from its head at the mouth of the short Skwawka River to its opening into the Strait of Georgia near Texada Island. Pacific Ranges
The Pacific Ranges are the southernmost subdivision of the Coast Mountains portion of the Pacific Cordillera. Located entirely within British Columbia, British Columbia, Canada, they run northwest from the lower stretches of the Fraser River to Bella Coola, British Columbia, Bella Coola and Burke Channel, north of which are the Kitimat Ranges. Mount Alexander is a mountain located approximately 125 km north-west of Melbourne, near the town of Harcourt. It rises 350 metres above the surrounding area to a level of 744 metres above sea level. Being a prominent local landmark, the mountain has its name associated with the surrounding district once known as the Mount Alexander goldfields, and presently defined as the Shire of Mount Alexander, centred on Castlemaine. Lillooet Land District
Lillooet Land District is one of the 59 cadastral subdivisions of British Columbia, which were created by the Lands Act of the Colony of British Columbia in 1859, defined as "a territorial division with legally defined boundaries for administrative purposes". The land district's boundaries came to be used as the boundary of the initial Lillooet riding for the provincial Legislature from 1871, when the colony became a province. The National Topographic System or NTS is the system used by Natural Resources Canada for providing general purpose topographic maps of the country. NTS maps are available in a variety of scales, the standard being 1:50,000 and 1:250,000 scales. The shÃshálh Nation (also spelled Shishalh) is a First Nation located on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada. Their ''swiya'' (world, 'Territory’) comprises 515,000 hectares that stretches from xwesam ( Roberts Creek) in the southeast, to x̱enichen (Jervis Inlet) in the north, to kwekwenis ( Lang Bay) in the southwest. Language The language of the shÃshálh people is '' she shashishalhem'' or Sechelt, a Coast Salish language most closely related to Squamish, Halkomelem, and Nooksack. Princess Beatrice (Beatrice Mary Victoria Feodore; 14 April 1857 – 26 October 1944), later Princess Henry of Battenberg, was the fifth daughter and youngest child of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
