Öland Zoo And Amusement Park
The Öland Zoo and Amusement Park () is a zoo and an amusement park one kilometer north of Färjestaden in Sweden. Short after the Öland Bridge was inaugurated on 30 September 1972, the founder of the zoo, Boris Bravin bought an old farm close to the bridge where he, assisted by the architect Sören Rasmussen established a zoo. Färjestaden is a locality situated in Mörbylånga Municipality, Kalmar County, Sweden with 5,018 inhabitants in 2010. It is located in the southern part of the island of Öland Öland (, ; ; sometimes written ''Oland'' internationally) is the second-largest Swedish island and the smallest of the traditional provinces of Sweden. Öland (, ; ; sometimes written ''Oland'' internationally) is the second-largest Swedish island and the smallest of the traditional provinces of Sweden. Öland has an area of and is located in the Baltic Sea just off the coast of Småland. The island has over 26,000 inhabitants. The EAZA Ex-situ Programme (EEP) is a population management and Ex situ conservation, conservation programme by European Association of Zoos and Aquaria, European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) for wild animals living in European zoos.
