''The Icelandic Dream'' (Icelandic: ''ﾃ行lenski draumurinn'' ()) is a 2000 Icelandic film directed by Rﾃｳbert Ingi Douglas. The movie depicts the story about an average Icelander and his dream to maintain wealth and fame. Plot ﾃ榲ｳrhallur Sverrisson stars as "Tﾃｳti", a 29-year-old grade school graduate who tries to earn his living by importing Bulgarian cigarettes to Iceland. His 18-year-old girlfriend "Dagmar", played by Hafdﾃｭs Huld, is trying to put up with him and his hobbies and soccer, while in high school (Menntaskﾃｳli). His best friend "Valli", a house painter and a longtime friend of Tﾃｳti speaks his mind throughout the movie, such as his thoughts on women and his patriotic ideas on Iceland, he is played by Jﾃｳn Gnarr. Rﾃｳbert Ingi Douglas (born 4 June 1973, in Reykjavﾃｭk) is an Icelandic film director, screenwriter and cinematographer who made his feature film debut with ''ﾃ行lenski draumurinn'' (2000). That film became a sleeper hit in the summer of 2000 becoming one of Iceland's biggest box-office hits that year. Rﾃｳbert Douglas followed the success of his first film with a darker film about subtle racism in Iceland's society, ''A Man Like Me'' (2002). That film proved to be another commercial success in Iceland. Douglas then made ''Eleven Men Out'' (2005), a film about an all-gay soccer team. The film has already become a success outside of Iceland and is the director's first film to do so. Before making ''Eleven Men Out'', Douglas made a documentary for television. Matthew Keeslar (born October 15, 1972) is an American retired actor. He is known for his roles in '' Waiting for Guffman'', ''The Last Days of Disco'', ''Scream 3'', and the miniseries ''Frank Herbert's Dune'' and '' Stephen King's Rose Red''. He also played the title character in the short-lived sci-fi dramedy ''The Middleman''. Life and career Matthew Keeslar was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the son of Fred Keeslar and Ann Ferguson, who divorced in 1977. He attended the acting program at the Juilliard School.
