Ìyál'ọ́jà
(pronounced ''ee-yah-lo-ja'') is a Yoruba word that literally translates to "Mother of the Market". It has commonly been used to refer to a prominent traditional chieftaincy title among the Yoruba people. Chief Abibatu Mogaji (16 October 1916 – 15 June 2013) was a Nigerian business magnate and the Ìyál'ọ́jà of Lagos. She was the mother of the president of Nigeria Chief Bola Tinubu. Early life Abibatu Mogaji was born on 16 October 1916, in Lagos, Southern Nigeria. Family Chief Mogaji is the wife of Alhaji Abdurazak Mogaji and was also the mother of the All Progressives Congress leader Senator Bola Tinubu, who became president in 2023. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu (born 29 March 1952) is a Nigerian politician serving as the 16th and current president of Nigeria since 2023.
