État 230-781 to 230-800 was a small class of 4-6-0 steam locomotives of the Chemin de fer de l'État. The series of 20 engines was built by the Belfort works of SACM in 1912 with 2.040 m diameter wheels. They were coupled with 21 cubic metre tenders. These machines, liked by drivers of the Chemin de fer de l'État, were nicknamed ''Jocondes''. The engines, numbered 230-781 to 230-800 with the Chemin de fer de l'État were renumbered 3-230.J.781 to 800 by the SNCF in 1938. Modifications Three locomotives (781, 783, and 793) received ACFI feedwater heaters. In 1933, two locomotives (788 and 793) were fitted with Kylälä exhausts. A 4-6-0 steam locomotive, under the Whyte notation for the classification of steam locomotives by wheel arrangement, has four leading wheels on two axles in a leading bogie and six powered and coupled driving wheels on three axles with the absence of trailing wheels. Kyösti Kylälä (born Gustaf Georg Adrian Byström; 16 August 1868 in Salmi – 15 August 1936 in Vyborg) was a Finnish railroad engineer and self-taught inventor. In 1919 he patented in the UK an 'Improved means for increasing the draught in steam boilers, especially on locomotives.' Kylchap
The Kylchap steam locomotive exhaust system was designed and patented by French steam engineer André Chapelon, using a second-stage nozzle designed by the Finnish engineer Kyösti Kylälä, known as the ''Kylälä spreader'', with the composite name KylChap being given the design. Construction The Kylchap exhaust consists of four stacked nozzles, the first exhaust nozzle (UK: blastpipe) blowing exhaust steam only and known as the primary nozzle, with a Chapelon design using four triangular jets. That exhausts into the second stage, the Kylälä spreader, which mixes the exhaust steam with some of the smokebox gases. The Chemins Company is a dietary supplement manufacturer based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The company, founded in 1974 by James Cameron, became embroiled in a series of criminal investigations in 1994 after a woman died and more than 100 other people became ill after taking one of the company's products marketed under the brand name Nature's Nutrition Formula One. The adverse events were later linked to the product having been tainted with ephedrine. A three-year federal investigation, which revealed that the company had doctored records, misled FDA investigators, and purposely hindered inspections, led to Cameron being sentenced to 21 months in prison and him and the company being fined $4.7 million .
