Érica De Sena
Érica Rocha de Sena (born 3 May 1985) is a female racewalker from Brazil. In the 20 km walk, she took 4th place at the 2017 World Championships, and 7th place at the 2016 Summer Olympics. She is the only Brazilian to win a medal at the IAAF World Race Walking Team Championships, after inheriting the 20 km race bronze in the 2016 race, held in Rome. Career In the same event, Sena also has the country's best racewalking performance by a woman at the Olympic Games, with a seventh place in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro games, and the World Championships in Athletics, a fourth place in both 2017 and 2019. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics, where Sena was third with just 400 meters to go before she got her third caution and was removed from the course for two minutes, making her lose a medal and finish 11th. Camaragibe
Camaragibe is a city in the Northeast region of Brazil, in the state of Pernambuco. It lies within the Greater Recife — Brazil's 5th-largest metropolitan area. Currently, Camaragibe is run by Nadegi Queiroz (from the political party Republicanos) and Délio Junior (The Vice-mayor). The lands now belonging to the city were used as a reserve of wood, and then for sugar planting. It was populated by natives, until the arrival of Portuguese with Duarte Coelho Pereira, around 1500. After the Portuguese arrival, however, the natives were not completely driven from the area. In the 16th century, the city (then just an engenho) was considered one of the richest in the region until the Dutch invasion in 1645. At that time, the farm was burned to the ground by the natives. Cristian Andrés Chocho León (born 4 November 1983) is an Ecuadorian race walker who competes in both the 20 km and 50 km walk events. He is the South American record holder in the 50 km (3:49:32 hours) and 20,000 metres (1:20:23.8 hours) walking events. Chocho was the 2011 South American Champion over 20 km and was the bronze medallist at the 2011 Summer Universiade. His best global level finish is eleventh over 50 km at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics. 2023 World Athletics Championships
The 2023 World Athletics Championships (), the nineteenth edition of the World Athletics Championships, were held from 19 to 27 August 2023 at the National Athletics Centre (Budapest), National Athletics Centre, in Budapest, Hungary. The tournament returned to its usual two-year cycle after the previous event in Eugene, Oregon, United States was postponed to 2022, held a little 13 months earlier due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
