Éamonn Breslin
Edward J. Breslin (1940 – 9 February 2021), known as Éamonn Breslin, was an Irish Gaelic footballer who played as a forward for club sides Inchicore Hibernians and Ballyfermot Gaels and was a member of the Dublin senior football team from 1963 until 1968. Career Breslin played his Gaelic football for Inchicore Hibernians and Ballyfermot Gaels, with both teams participating in the Dublin Junior Championship. He earned a call-up to the Dublin senior football team and was an unused substitute on the team that beat Galway in the 1963 All-Ireland final. He also claimed two Leinster Championship titles. Breslin is probably best remembered for becoming the first player to score a headed goal in Gaelic football, a feat he achieved in a National League game against Laois in November 1964. Ballyfermot De La Salle GAA
Ballyfermot Gaels GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in based in the Ballyfermot area of Dublin. The club was founded in 1953 and was known as Ballyfermot Gaels at that time and was then known as Ballyfermot De La Salle, before reverting in 2025. The club has adult football and juvenile teams at various levels. The club plays in the Kerry colours as a tribute to the first parish priest, Kerryman Charles Canon Troy who sponsored the club. Monkstown Football Club
Monkstown Football Club is an Irish rugby senior club based in Dublin 4. As of the 2024–25 season, it plays in Division 2C of the All-Ireland League. In addition to the First XV, they also have Second (J1), Third (J2) and Fourth (J3) XV's, a mini rugby section and a Golden Oldies team. History The club was an offshoot of what was previously called Kingstown Club or simply Kingstown which had numerous early Irish rugby internationals to its name and was recorded as having at least two senior teams in the 1880s. The club was formally founded in 1883 as one of the first in Ireland in Monkstown as the name suggests, but moved to the Sandymount area in 1901 after leasing grounds at Sydney Parade from the Earl of Pembroke.
