54 (film)
''54'' is a 1998 American drama film written and directed by Mark Christopher. Starring Ryan Phillippe, Salma Hayek, Neve Campbell, and Mike Myers, the film focuses on the rise and fall of Studio 54, a famous nightclub in New York City during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Prior to its release in the United States on August 28, 1998, by Miramax Films, the film was extensively reshot and recut; it ultimately opened to poor critical reaction and box office. In 2008, a bootleg version of the director's cut was screened at Outfest, leading to interest for its release. In 2015, Christopher and Miramax premiered a new edit of the film at the 65th Berlin International Film Festival, with 45 minutes of original material restored and 30 minutes of studio re-shoots removed. Plot Theatrical version In the summer of 1979, 19-year-old Irish-American gas station attendant Shane O'Shea lives in Jersey City, New Jersey, with his widowed, conservative father Harlan and two younger sist ...

54 (number)
54 (fifty-four) is the natural number and Sign (math), positive integer following 53 (number), 53 and preceding 55 (number), 55. As a multiple of 2 but not of 4, 54 is an Singly and doubly even, oddly even number and a composite number. 54 is related to the golden ratio through trigonometry: the sine of a 54 degree angle is half of the golden ratio. Also, 54 is a regular number, and its even division of powers of 60 was useful to ancient mathematicians who used the Assyro-Babylonian mathematics system. It is also an abundant number, since Aliquot sum, the sum of its proper divisors (66) is greater than itself. In mathematics Number theory 54 is an abundant number because Aliquot sum, the sum of its proper divisors (66 (number), 66), which excludes 54 as a divisor, is greater than itself. Like all multiples of 6, 54 is equal to some of its proper divisors summed together, so it is also a semiperfect number. These proper divisors can be summed in various ways to express all posit ...

54 Alexandra
54 Alexandra is a carbonaceous asteroid from the intermediate asteroid belt, approximately 155 kilometers in diameter. It was discovered by German-French astronomer Hermann Goldschmidt on 10 September 1858, and named after the German explorer Alexander von Humboldt; it was the first asteroid to be named after a male. Description On May 17, 2005, this asteroid occulted a faint star (magnitude 8.5) and the event was observed and timed in a number of locations within the U.S. and Mexico. As a result, a silhouette profile was produced, yielding a roughly oval cross-section with dimensions of 160 × 135 km (± 1 km).D.W. Dunham, "Upcoming Asteroid Occultations", ''Sky & Telescope'', June, 2006, p. 63. The mass of the asteroid can be estimated based upon the mutually perturbing effects of other bodies, yielding an estimate of . Photometric observations of this asteroid during 1990–92 gave a light curve with a period of 18.14 ± 0.04 hours and a brightness variation o ...

54 (album)
''54'' is an album of Metropole Orkest conducted by Vince Mendoza featuring jazz guitarist John Scofield, and was released in May 2010. Reception At the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards, the album was nominated for Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album, and Best Instrumental Arrangement went to Vince Mendoza for arranging "Carlos", the opening track. John Bungey of ''The Times'' wrote: "The Dutch Metropole Orchestra surround Scofield's bluesy riffs with strings and brass and some tracks will be too soft-edged for hardcore jazz types. But Scofield is at his best, fluent, creative and funky, and an epic version of his old tune 'Twang' is a knock-out." ''The Guardians John Fordham commented: "The arrangements could have reflected cofield'sbite and pungency a little more, but there's plenty of punch to this set." In a review for ''All About Jazz'', John Kelman remarked: "Combining Mendoza's stunning arrangements and some of Scofield's best playing in years, ''54'' is a milestone in both ...
