Technical College, Yamaguchi Normal School, Yamaguchi Youth Normal School and (Prefectural) Yamaguchi College of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry. In 1964 Yamaguchi Prefectural Medical College was merged into the university to constitute the School of Medicine.
