Many of the stories had originally appeared in the magazines ''Worlds of Tomorrow'', ''Galaxy Science Fiction'', ''Amazing Stories'', ''Fantasy and Science Fiction'', ''Famous Science Fiction'', ''Niekas'', ''Rolling Stone College Papers'', ''Interzone (magazine), Interzone'', ''Playboy'', ''Omni (magazine), Omni'' and ''The Yuba City High Times''.
