He is also a member of several other standing committees within the Assembly, including Agriculture, Codes, Health, Housing, Insurance and Steering. Cymbrowitz, a son of Holocaust survivors, was first married to Lena Azizo Cymbrowitz, who occupied this Assembly seat until her death from cancer in 2000, aged 43. They have two children, Jay and Jennifer. He is currently married to Vilma Huertas, the Secretary to the Board of New York City Housing Authority.
