Administrative districts

As at time of the 2010 Census, the Regency was divided into twenty-eight
districts A district is a type of administrative division that, in some countries, is managed by the local government. Across the world, areas known as "districts" vary greatly in size, spanning regions or counties, several municipalities, subdivisions ...
(''kecamatan''). However, an additional district - Lebak Wangi - has been created since 2010 from the southeastern part of Pontang District and other neighbouring districts. The districts are tabulated below with their current areas and their populations at the 2010 Census and the 2020 Census.Badan Pusat Statistik, Jakarta, 2021. The districts are subdivided into 326 'villages' (''desa'' and ''kelurahan''). Note: (a) the 2010 population on the new Lebak Wangi District is included in the figures for the districts from which it was cut out.
