The family contains four extant genera, '' Phloeostichus'' is native to the Palearctic, '' Rhopalobrachium'' is native to central-southern South America and eastern Australia, '' Hymaea'' is native to southeastern Australia, and '' Bunyastichus'' is found in Tasmania.
