Case said of the vibrant Vancouver punk rock scene at that time, "A lot of women wanted to play music because they were inspired, because it was an incredibly good time for music in the Northwest. The New Pornographers' second album, '' Electric Version'', was released on May 6, 2003. Case sang lead on even more of the songs on this album, and toured with the group again.
