Family

Mudar the son of Nizar, begat two Sons: Ilyas and 'Aylan.lIyas begat three sons: Mudrikah, Tabikha, and Qam'a. Their mother was called Khindif, a Quda'aite woman.The name of Mudrika was 'Amir and the name of Tabikha was Amr. There is a story that when they were pasturing their camels they hunted some game and sat down to cook it, when some raiders swooped upon their camels. Amir said to 'Amr: "Will you go after the camels or will you keep cooking this game?' 'Amr replied that he would go on cooking, so 'Amir went after the camels and brought them back. When they returned and told their father, he said to 'Amir: 'You are Mudrika (an overtaker), and to 'Amr he said 'You are Tabikha (a cook). When their mother heard the shouting she came hurriedly from her tent and Mudar said: 'You are trotting!' (khandafa)' and so she was called Khindif.
