The name ''Międzyrzecze'' is of topographic origin and literally means '' placebetween rivers'' (Polish: ''między rzekami''). There are two rivers flowing through the village: Jasienica and Wapienica. Adjective ''Dolne'' (German: ''Nieder'') means ''lower''.
