History

Marceline was laid out in 1887, and named after the wife of a railroad man. A post office called Marceline has been in operation since 1887. Marceline is most famous for being the boyhood home of
Walt Disney Walter Elias Disney (; December 5, 1901December 15, 1966) was an American animator, film producer and entrepreneur. A pioneer of the American animation industry, he introduced several developments in the production of cartoons. As a film p ...
, and the original Main Street USA.
