Premise

The first five seasons of ''Madam Secretary'' explore Elizabeth McCord's life as the determined

. She drives international diplomacy, battles office politics, and circumvents protocol if needed as she negotiates worldwide issues. The show also focuses on the characters' personal lives. At the end of the fifth season, McCord announces that she will run for
