The club moved up to Division Two of the Yorkshire League in 1967 and won the division at the first attempt, earning promotion to Division One. Lincoln United were Division One champions in 1970–71 and again in 1973–74. However, after finishing bottom of the division in 1978–79, the club were relegated to Division Two.
