In 36 games (27 starts) for the Jayhawks in 2014–15, Oubre averaged 9.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 21.0 minutes per game. On April 1, 2015, Oubre declared for the NBA draft, forgoing his final three years of college eligibility.

The injury was later reported as a right meniscus tear.
