Cason was born on July 30, 1918, in Valley View, Texas. He made his film debut, as a fighter in the 1941 classic Abbott and Costello comedy, ''

Cason was killed in a car accident on July 7, 1961. He was buried in Grangeville Cemetery, in Armona, California.
