Early life and education

Hollenbeck was born in Binghamton, New York. He earned degrees in percussion and jazz composition from the

Hollenbeck was a professor of jazz drums and improvisation at the Jazz Institute Berlin from 2005 to 2016. In 2015, he joined the faculty of
