Jan Waszkiewicz (June 24, 1944 – March 25, 2021) was a Polish politician and regional official, academic, and marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. He graduated from the University of Wrocław in 1966. After graduating, he worked at the Pedagogical University in Opole, then moved to the Wrocław University, where he worked until 1969. For the next three years he was a doctoral student at the Institute of Mathematics, Polish Academy of Science in Warsaw. He obtained his doctorate from Institute of Mathematics of the
