Jagannathan was born to Sekharan Nair in

Jagannathan also directed four plays: ''Pathanam'', ''Parivarthanam'', ''Karadi'' and ''Vivahalochana''. Jagannathan's film debut was in '' Oridathu'' (1986), directed by Aravindan.
