Due to the gamma energy of the Midnight Sun's magic, Bruce is unable to Hulk out, leaving him in a state akin to sexual frustration, being pent up. Bruce is enthralled shortly afterwards by Lilith, which is being used to replace Faustus. He later breaks through his Hulk block by jumping into the blast of Stark's gamma gun, turning into Smart Hulk.
