. Retrieved August 20, 2014. Instead, however, he chose to sign with the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League, and he played two and a half seasons for the Alouettes from to . Memorably, he had a 52-yard interception return for a touchdown while playing defense for the Alouettes in 1960. He finished his CFL pro career with the Ottawa Rough Riders during the second half of the 1961 CFL season. During his three-season CFL career, Deiderich appeared in 19 regular season games. Deiderich died in 1999 in Gallatin, Tennessee; he was 63 years old.
