Chaslin wrote a song cycle after Jean Cocteau for soprano, and is currently composing a musical based on Monte Cristo, commissioned by Plácido Domingo. Chaslin's first novel, "Being Gustav Mahler", is being released on October 2 by Fayard Publishing
