The emblem of the Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic ( lt, Lietuvos TSR valstybinis herbas) was adopted in 1940 by the government of the Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic. The emblem was designed by Vsevolodas Dobužinskis based on the State Emblem of the Soviet Union. ''. Lithuania was the first Soviet republic to restore its national symbols. However, the coat of arms were not restored. The traditional coat of arms of Lithuania was recognized as a national symbol, but not elevated to the status of state's coat of arms.
