History

The
Taff Vale Railway The Taff Vale Railway (TVR) was a standard gauge railway in South Wales, built by the Taff Vale Railway Company to serve the iron and coal industries around Merthyr Tydfil and to connect them with docks in Cardiff. It was opened in st ...
opened the station in 1904. It had two platforms until 1967, when British Rail closed the Down platform and reduced the line from double to single track.


Service

Monday to Saturday daytimes there are four trains per hour to Cardiff Central and beyond to ( and hourly through to ) northbound and Penarth southbound. On Monday to Saturday evenings there are two trains per hour.
