Attack
The attack took place on Wednesday afternoon in Balashikha on the Shchelkovskoye highway, 20km (12 miles) east of Moscow. The attack on the police station was carried out by two men armed with gun, guns and axe, axes. A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Committee of Russia on the grounds of the crime provided for in Article 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (encroachment on the lives of law enforcement officers). The official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that the police officers who neutralized attackers will be presented to the state award. ISIL, Islamic State of Iraq and Levant released a statement claiming that the attackers were "fighters from the Islamic State" and calling it revenge for Russia's Russian military intervention in the Syrian Civil War, aerial bombing campaign in Syria.See also
