tennis tournament that took place on the outdoor
grass courts at the
West Side Tennis Club, Forest Hills in
New York City, United States. The men's tournament ran from September 7 until September 14, while the women's event took place from August 19 to August 24. It was the 49th staging of the
U.S. National Championships and the fourth
Grand Slam tennis event of the year. In the men's singles competition
